In 1992, as we were preparing to celebrate our 5th Fairfield County Irish Festival, our chairperson, Marybeth Condon, was unexpectedly taken from all of us. In her unassuming way she referred to herself as the “spokesperson” in order to emphasize the equal standing of all members of the Festival Committee. It was this modesty that led us to value her many talents and work as hard as she always did to make everything the best. Marybeth’s family and friends continue this tradition by presiding over our House Tent with a graciousness and hospitality that always makes it a welcoming breathing space on the field, a place to unwind and to remember.
