Volunteer for the 2016 Fairfield County Irish Festival by clicking on the “volunteer spot” link below. This will take you to our festival page where you can choose your area, date and time. Volunteer spot will even send you a confirmation.

If you choose, you can print out the downloadable form instead and return it to the Gaelic-American Club. A festival organizer will put the information in for you. We will do our best to accommodate your requests. A chairperson will contact you to confirm.

Getting To The Festival:

Great News!! Parking is available this year on the grounds of Fairfield U.

Free shuttle buses are available from the Fairfield Train Station (North Side) It is a very short ride and the buses run every 10 minutes.

Shuttle bus start times:

Friday:                5:30 p.m.

Saturday:          11:30 a.m.

Sunday:             11:30 a.m.

Checking in:

All volunteers are required to check in at the main gate. Just let the staff at the admission tables know you are a volunteer and they will direct you to the check in area.

Note: If your name is not on the list to volunteer then you will be required to pay for your admission

Volunteer locations:

  • Admissions:
    • Greet visitors to the festival and sell admission tickets at the main and back gates
    • Additional information: you will be seated under a tent
  • Apparel
    • Sell festival apparel
    • Additional information: you will be seated under a tent
  • Children’s tent
    • Assist with crafts, games etc. Sell tickets for rides.
    • Additional information: you will be working under a tent.
  • Grounds
    • Help keep our grounds clean and empty trash cans
    • Additional information: some lifting is involved
  • House tent
    • Sell desserts and beverages
    • Additional information: you will be working under a tent.
  • ID checker
    • Verify date of birth and distribute wristbands for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
    • Additional information:
    • You must be 21 years of age
    • You need to be able to read the small print on a license to check date of birth
    • You will be working under a tent
  • Raffle
    • Sell tickets for the festival’s cash raffle
    • Additional information: you will be seated under a tent
  • Ticket sales
    • Sell food and beverage tickets
    • Additional information: you will be seated under a tent
  • Alcohol server:
    • Pouring and/or serving alcohol in our main tent or pub tent
    • Additional information:
    • You must be 21 years of age or older
    • You will be working under a tent
